Type of Training Accepted: Firearms safety course given by an instructor who is registered with the Arkansas State Police. You must live-fire on a range to demonstrate your proficiency. This must be taken within 6 months of your application.
Military firearms training is available for Active Duty Military personnel and National Guard and Reservists. It must be completed a maximum of one year from your application. This must be confirmed in a letter by your commanding officer, along with other information.
Length of Training: 4-8 hours. No time limit, but certain topics must be covered.
Cost of Training: ~$75-$150
Notes: You must take a training course before renewing your license, but you can take this any time within the 12 months leading up to your renewal.
